Overall lead for the Energy, Environment & Climate Change pillar of EGF, while providing support to the other pillar leads and functions within EGF.
Team leads program conceptualization and program design for priority focus areas for EGF in Energy, Environment & Climate Change to create social impact in the areas of energy, environment, and climate change
Oversight of the pillar’s strategy and workplans targeted towards climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Engaging, onboarding and maintaining partnerships towards EGF’s aspirations in Energy, Environment & Climate Change.
Contributing to the formulation of EGF strategy in keeping with Equity Group’s Africa Recovery & Resilience Plan via input from the Energy, Environment & Climate Change pillar strategy.
Lead Equity Group Foundation’s (EGF) Environmental Education and Awareness and practice: initiatives in Energy, Environment and Climate Change – including tree planting and monitoring that raise awareness about climate change, sustainable living, and environmental stewardship.
Crowd in partnerships, support and funding for projects and programs aimed at climate change adaptation and mitigation – Including environmental conservation, e.g. via reforestation, clean water access, and waste management.
Work with the Sustainability team to integrate sustainable practices into the Equity Group operations.
Capacity building:
towards Energy Efficiency: Lead the design and implementation of programs that avail capacity building and facilitate access to credit for MSMEs and Institutions, including incentives for businesses and individuals to invest and convert to use of in energy-efficient and clean energy technologies and infrastructure.
to influence sustainable operations of clients and industries.
towards innovative financing, insurance products & sustainable lending practices – Work with credit team and sustainability teams to incorporate environmental and climate risk assessments into the lending process.
Promote Green Financing and Investment and support uptake of financing for Renewable Energy Projects such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power.
Identify opportunities for innovative financing in Energy, Environment and Climate Change including loans, green bonds, green loans and blended finance to finance environmentally friendly projects, including reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and clean water initiatives for individuals and MSMEs.
Support Equity Group’s journey towards Carbon Neutrality via identifying and working with partners to get Equity to carbon-neutral status via partnerships to offset emissions through investments in carbon credits or supporting carbon offset projects.
Contribute to policy advocacy and lead Equity Group Foundation to collaborate with governments, NGOs and other key stakeholders towards policies that support renewable energy, carbon pricing, and other measures to combat climate change.
Work with Innovation and Technology pillar of Equity Group Foundation to explore opportunities such as Green Fintech Solutions and upskill young people to develop financial technology solutions that promote sustainability, such as platforms for tracking tree planting initiatives, carbon footprints, tools for measuring environmental impact, or apps that help consumers make greener choices.
Stakeholder Engagement, High level Liaison, Partnerships and relationship management: – Onboard partnerships and collaborative Projects with funding partners and other implementing organizations and foundations, on projects aimed at addressing climate change and environmental degradation.
Monitoring and supporting feedback loop to strengthen Equity Group’s offering in Climate Finance, Sustainability, Green MSMEs and broadly across the Energy, Environment & Climate Change Sector

Relevant Experience
At least 7 years in management and hands- on work within Energy, Environment, Climate Change, Sustainability, International Development sectors.
