- Participates in review of substation Telecommunication, CCTV and Access control System project designs.
- Performs testing and commissioning of new Telecommunication Systems equipment.
- Participates in preparation of specifications for Telecommunication equipment and systems as per the approved policies and procedures

- Providing research material necessary for institution of suits in courts/tribunals;
- Undertaking the discovery of evidence for use in cases where the Company is a party;
- Drafting pleadings and other relevant documents for filing in courts/tribunals;

SENIOR OFFICER SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMET, PROJECTS (KET 5) (1 POSITION) REF: KETRACO/5/1C/40/221/VOL I -B (02/2025) ON PERMANENT & PENSIONABLE TERMS
Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Management, Project Services & Office Operations
Job purpose
This job is responsible for undertaking procurement of specialised project contracts, review performance of contractors & consultants to ensure delivery of transmission infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities;
- Implementing procurement activities in compliance with laws and regulations;
- Undertaking Procurement of project goods, works and services according to the Annual Procurement Plan;
- Advising on budget for the sub-function in view of office requirements;
- Managing project contracts progression;
- Proposing procurement solutions/innovation for implementation.
- Coordinating the project procurement processes in the Section;
- Supervising opening of tenders and quotations;
- Evaluating project bid proposals for award of contracts selection of vendors for procurement of goods, works and services;
- Preparing draft contract agreements in liaison with respective Departments for signature:
- Compiling of supply chain statutory reports to authorizing agents;
- Registering vendors for procurement of goods, works and services;
- Coordinating pre-construction activities such negotiation and purchase of land for construction of substations for new projects;
- Implementing effective contracts for goods, works and services with respective user departments;
- Undertaking project and contract management process;
- Implementing advanced procurement solutions such as SAP s/4 Hana & SAP Ariba and exploring best practices.
Qualifications & Skills required
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Purchasing/Supply Chain Management or related field from a recognized institution
- Full Member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) Or Chartered Institute of Purchasing (CIPS) in good standing;
- Valid Practising licence from the Kenya institute of supplies management (KISM)
- Supervisory or Management course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
- Must have six (6) years relevant work experience.

Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Corporate Planning
Job Purpose
-
This job is responsible for undertaking project planning, economic appraisal of projects, tariffs setting, and economic regulatory affairs in the Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating estimation of transmission license fees and other relevant national and regional economic regulatory obligations for the Company;
- Developing draft advisory services to the Management on Transmission tariffs and other regulatory obligations;
- Providing support for effective linkages with the Ministry of Energy, Regulatory Agency, and other utilities during Retail Tariffs reviews and hearings and during the development of national and sector plans;
- Reviewing the drafting Managing Director’s report, business performance review, and the Company’s performance review as inputs into the Company annual reports;
- Supervising performance and capacity building of the staff in the unit;
- Preparing Transmission tariffs and wheeling charges and providing inputs into the associated interconnection and wheeling agreements;
- Undertaking drafting of the Transmission Master Plan;
- Developing responses to the regulatory agency and other utilities during tariff reviews and hearings;
- Preparing proposals and concepts for financing & investment strategies for the organization in line with the Transmission Master Plan;
- Undertaking financial and economic evaluation of new projects during feasibility studies and project appraisals;
- Coordinating engagements and activities on the pilot PPP program with the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Unit and development partners including drafting of requests for support, framework development, and project preparation documents;
- Outlining frameworks for regional electricity trade and open access for the organization in liaison with other sector utilities and regional power organizations;
- Undertaking the drafting of the management paper on the estimated annual transmission license fees;
- Reviewing generation projects feasibility studies to ensure alignment with the company-planned projects, sector plans, and national plans and in line with the regulatory and policy framework;
- Representing the Company’s interest in the drafting of regional, national, and sector policies and regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Project Planning/Strategic Management or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Must have an Economic/Utility regulation course lasting not less than ten (10) days.
- Supervisory or Management course lasting not less than two (2) weeks.
- Must have six (6) years of relevant work experience.
